Berthaud Brothers ran a photo studio called Maison Helios in Paris, originally at 9 rue Cadet. They later expanded to eight cites in France, active from 1889 to around 1908. In their postcard production, after a few years the logo B.F.,PARIS is followed by an image of a flower, a heliotrope referencing the studio name.
From 1918 or earlier to 1928 or later the firm was run by successors CATALA FRÈRES from the same address and still with the marque BF Paris. According to the Dumbarton Oaks site Catala Fréres took over the business at some point in the first decade of the twentieth century. Catala Fréres also printed cards for other publishers.
